I like to manifest the future through my work.  I want my work to be a foreshadowing of positivity for the representation of Black children in the future.  As a ‘90s child, I was raised on colored TV and afternoon cartoons, constantly looking for guidance on TV on how to exist in a world that doesn’t have space for me.  I was looking for myself in these screens and came to realize that if there isn’t space, then I have to demand space for US (the ones like me).  Binky decided to sit on TV’s until she gets ON TV.  Here’s to the little Black girls who are the main character of their afternoon special.  There’s enough room and enough TV’s for all of our varied experiences. —- Bianca Pastel.
